I have been using a custom built social toolbar on my sites that I had coded for a while now and thought it was time it update it and share it with anyone that is interested in using it as I noticed the original post about it has somewhat gone / been deleted from my database some how?! – Another great example why people should always backup sites and databases at least once a week!
Anyway… you can download the files for the toolbar at [https://sourceforge.net/projects/nathssocialtoolbar/] and feel free to customise it to fit your needs, all I ask is that you keep the powered by link on the toolbar so others may find and download it. – Please Note: I’m happy to help with any customisations so feel free to ask, but if its a large job I will have to charge a small fee for my time.

So that’s it, IsoHunt.com Initiates Self Destruct!
Just gone to IsoHunt.com to get some downloads going to find its been shut down So sad to see such a great torrent site finally shut down after its glorious 10.5 years by those assholes MPAA who Fung signed a $110 million settlement with out of court!
But on a plus note… Gary Fung said “For what I’m working on next, please look up my blog on Google and follow me there.” and ends the IsoHunt farewell message with “I’ll be backkk.”
I can’t wait to see what Fung has coming next! But for now its time to find those torrents I want from a few other sources
Here’s the message you will see at IsoHunt.com, it’s a sad, sad day for many IsoHunt fans
Initiating Self Destruct
This is it. We are shutting down isoHunt services a little early. I’m told there was this Internet archival team that wants to make historical copy of our .torrent files, I’m honoured that people think our site is worthy of historical preservation. But the truth is about 95% of those .torrent files can be found off Google regardless and mostly have been indexed from other BitTorrent sites in the first place. So I might as well do a proper send-off to you dear isoHunt users, before final shutdown sequence on Tuesday. It’s been an adventure in the last 10.5 years working on isoHunt, a privilege working with some of the smartest guys I’ve worked with, and my life won’t be the same without this journey. For what I’m working on next, please look up my blog on Google and follow me there. Because as the Terminator would say with a German accent,
I’ll be backkk.

It used to be the case that when a friend moved away, apart from the odd letter, contact would be pretty much nil. Thankfully these days that just isn’t the case anymore. Not only can friends stay in touch, people can locate long-lost friends from school days, and entire relationships can be conducted over the internet! Here are some of the many ways that you can stay up to date with your friends and relations, regardless of distance:

Skype is one of the most popular VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) systems that is available on the market – and it’s free! All you need to do is download the software on your PC (or put the app on your smartphone) and you’re away. You will need a built-in webcam in your computer in order to use the video calling system, but if you don’t have one you can buy one with a USB connection to fit into a port on the back of your computer. It’s really easy to use, and it means that you can video call someone anywhere in the world (as long as you both have strong internet connection) for free! When people get sent away for business it is a great way of staying in touch with the entire family while they are away. And long-distance relationships survive much better because this eye-to-eye contact is so important. There are other VOIP programs available too so have a look online.

There’s nothing more wonderful than receiving a letter from somebody, but these days it’s pretty unlikely that you ever get anything through your door other than too many bills! Email is a much better way of sending a letter as it is delivered instantly and it’s free. So, if you have a lot of news to deliver to a long-lost friend, there’s nothing better than typing it all out and sending it over. They will be delighted to hear all of your news, and they’ll probably send you an email with theirs right back.

Facebook is a wonderful way of keeping up to date with your friends’ photos, news and stories. Once you are ‘friends’ you have access to their whole page which means you can see just what they have been up to. It’s one of the most popular types of social networking that there is, and many people have rediscovered long-lost friends this way. If you’re new to it then don’t worry – it’s really easy to get the hang of it. Once you figure out the basic etiquette you’ll be on your way to opening up a whole new network of friends – many people use it to organize their social life so you’ll hear about lots of events that are happening!
With modern technology, distance is not so much of a spanner in the works of a friendship or relationship. So if someone that is close to you is considering moving away then try not to despair – the chances are that your friendship will be strong than ever with the help of modern technology.
