Selling Your iPhone Online
Have you been looking to sell your old iPhone because you no longer need it after upgrading to a newer model or changing to a better Android phone?
Well here in the UK some of the best places/market places to sell mobile phones are on eBay, Amazon and Play.com, that’s right play.com! My third top recommended online place to sell you iPhone would indeed been on play.com as they are well known and a large technology site which now allows its members to sell their own products!
There are many articles and reasons about how to sell cell phones and to be honest it’s not that hard to pick one as most market places tend to have very similar fees so as with selling most things online it’s not a case of trying to find the cheapest place to list your phone, but the place which sells the most phones, or the one which is searched the most and/or has other similar phones to yours for sale at a higher price!
For example, selling an iPhone on play.com could be a good idea as they are a little more pricey then at eBay, but without checking out the user stats on how many people search for those products, you’re not likely to know which is the best place to list such an item.
You can find these stats on a number of sites for free, so next time you’re looking to sell your mobile phone or any bit of tech for that matter, it’s well worth doing a little research unless you’re able to list the items for free on each site, in which case it’s a win-win because you can simply remove the listing’s’ from the site’s’ which don’t sell.
Selling Your iPhone On The High Street
Another option is to take your mobile phone to a high street store such as cash converters or cex, both of these have quite large “fees” IMO though, so you might not earn so much for your phone as you would selling it privately online.
Well I say “fees” loosely because neither of those stores say they have fees as such, they simply give you a lot less money for your goods, which I put down to fees how having to pay staff etc and because they are selling your products on again, meaning for them to make a profit they can’t pay you as good a price as someone is willing to pay for the phone.
So in short, whilst selling your iPhone, mobile phone or any other peace of tech in a high street store is a faster way of getting cash, you’re not going to make as much money as you would selling online! So the choice is yours, if you need cash fast try cex or cash converter (which you can get your goods back from within 4days I believe) but if you’re not after a fast sale and are willing to wait for a better price sell online!

In today’s music industry, with available digital mediums and music distribution channels like Pandora, iTunes, and Spotify (among countless others), rock stars and musicians are not making nearly as much of their money directly from album sales as they did several decades ago. And back in the days of the controversial Napster, this was a huge problem, because everyone thought – doesn’t taking away album sales deny musicians of their hard earned money and success, leaving them broke and uncompensated? The music industry has completely bounced back from the Napster debacle, and is actually thriving more than ever, so we all know the answer is no. As it turns out, the most financially successful musicians of the latter half of this century were able to build most of their riches through a variety of avenues, including clothing lines, restaurants and businesses, and especially, real estate investment. Check out this infographic to see who exactly are the richest rock stars of all time, and how they made most of their money.

With Mothers Day just around the corner on the 10th of March I have been looking for something nice and different to buy instead of the usual flowers and as I was clearing some of the junk out of my PC/clutter room in my new house I stumbled upon some business cards I had been looking for which reminded me to take a look at Vistaprint to see if they had any special deals on for Mothers Day.
My Choice Of Mothers Day Gift From Vistaprint
Whilst Vistaprint don’t seem to have any specific Mothers Day deals on the home page at the moment, I did see a range of great offers (discount savings on a lot of products) and the one that really stood out for me the most was the Photo Books which I thought would make a lovely Mothers Day gift and be something completely different which she had never been given before!
You can currently get a small photo book from just £6.99 (normally £13.99), but I think a medium sized photo book would be a much better gift for my mum and being as they start from just £11.99 with the current discount down from £14.99 I think it’s a great deal!
The Design Stage Of My Photo Book
I chose my medium size photo book from the available size options which comes in a size of 20cm x 15cm and can hold between 24 to 120 pages, has the option of a photo cover for FREE! And is available in several “attractive colours” which is perfect for making a lovely and memorable Mothers Day gift!
When you click to create your photo book Vistaprint will give you two options on the next page, the first is to download an offline editor so you can enjoy making your photo books offline from anywhere, and the second is to work online with their photo album online option which is the one I chose to use as I like to do these sorts of things online and it still allows you to re-open and edit your photo books at any time from any computer
Using The Online Photo Book Creator
So using the online photo book creator is really simple and they have a short and easy to follow video in the editor so you can see how it all works! So to start with all you do is upload your photos by clicking the orange camera button and select the photos you wish to upload from your computer (hold Ctrl if you want to upload more than one photo at a time).
Now we have our photos uploaded it’s time to create the photo book! Vistaprint give you two options for this which you will automatically be taken to once your photos have finished uploading. The options are to manually place your photos or let Vistaprints online photo book auto fill the book for you, and as I like to see how these things work I decided to use the auto fill option and told it to place a single photo on each page (I started with just 4 photos as a test run to see how well this worked before doing my whole photo book) which worked very well and then I simply played around with the different settings to make my Mother’s Day photo book look all lovely and beautiful for my mum.
The Out Come Of My Photo Book
Well I haven’t quite finished my book yet as I am waiting to add some more photos to it so I will have to update this part of the post at a later date, but I did do some research looking around for reviews on these photo books and many others have said that the high quality finish of them was far better then they was expecting to have so I can’t wait to finish mine and get it delivered in time for Mothers Day
It’s a dance most of us are familiar with and that most of us go through on a daily basis. The alarm rings, we turn over, we press the snooze button, we go back to sleep. Ten minutes later, the alarm buzzes again, we turn over, we press the snooze button, we go back to sleep. This then occurs anywhere up to ten times before eventually we either wake up – over an hour later than intended – or accidentally-on-purpose hit ‘off’ instead and end up sleeping another two hours. At the time this feels like a victory until we wake up and realise that we’re now several hours late for whatever it was that we wanted to do and that we’ve squandered the main part of the day. We will now spend the rest of it in a sleepy haze trying to catch up and not having any time as a result to do anything we would want to spend the day doing. Yeah, nice one.
This then is an area that needs to be addressed, and it’s important to try and think of ways that you can improve your ability to wake up on time if you want to get the most from your days and if you want to really improve yourself and your situation. Here are some ways you can accomplish this that can prove very effective.
Focus on Why
One thing you can do to help yourself get out of bed is to focus not on how you’re feeling now, but how you’ll feel later if you don’t get up – regretful, groggy and rushed. Think about this when the alarm goes off, and you’ll find yourself much more likely to find the energy to jump out of bed.
Jump Up Right Away
Likewise you should also jump up right away as soon as your alarm goes off. That means not jumping up two minutes later, or having even one snooze. Recognize that asking to snooze for ten minutes isn’t going to make any difference to your well-being, and that it’s just an excuse (you can survive perfectly well on four hours sleep for a few days and once you get into the rhythm you’ll start naturally going to bed earlier). Don’t take excuses, just get up.
The problem is that when you wake up you often don’t feel much like ‘focussing on how you’ll feel’ or dismissing your normal excuses and as such you will probably find yourself not doing it. To avoid this problem, write some notes to yourself and leave them on your bedside table so that as soon as you wake up you are presented with ‘There’s no excuse to roll over, if you do that you will only feel WORSE tomorrow’.
I have a teas maid that you can set with an alarm. Before I started living with my very convincing girlfriend I would use this to wake me up by setting the alarm to make me a fresh cup of coffee in the morning – in the kitchen. When I woke up I’d hear it gurgling away and I’d know that it would go cold if I didn’t get up and get it right away and this would be a big added incentive to climb out of bed. That and I would drink it watching Fraser.
If you are still struggling to get out of bed then it may be that you are in fact ‘hiding’ from the day ahead. Use hypnotherapy or counselling to get to the bottom of why and make sure to address the things you’re unhappy with in your life.

Buying a property is a nerve wracking business and one that sees an awful lot of money changing hands, and aspects of our lives altering that will never be the same again. When you buy a property you are not just making a huge purchase, but also a huge commitment that will affect every aspect of your life for years to come – so you need to make sure you get it right.
With that in mind, it’s important to listen to your gut and to any tell-tale signs if they’re telling you to pull out and there are a few things that shouldn’t be ignored in this regard. Here we will look at some of the signs that you perhaps shouldn’t move into a property and that it might be a bad investment.
The Current Owners Haven’t Lived There Long
You need to ask yourself why the current owners are moving out of the property they’re in, and whether this might be indicative of the quality of the property. If you notice that none of the previous owners have stayed there more than a year then this might raise red flags that something is wrong. To investigate further, ask the owners why they’re moving and even consider tracking down someone who used to live there. If they seem in a rush, or if the property has been on the market for a very long time, then these too should be considered worrying signs – as is a very low asking price. The general rule here is that if it seems too good to be true… it probably is.
Your Gut Is Telling You Not to Move
Sometimes picking a property seems to be a gut decision that doesn’t rely entirely on logic or reason. If you get a gut feeling about a place then this emotional response may well be a good indicator that you’ll be happy there, and likewise you should listen to any doubts you have – even if you can’t put your finger on what they are.
If in doubt, try imagining yourself living there – imagine how you’d decorate it, and imagine how you’d entertain guests if they came round. If you can’t imagine this, then that might be a sign that the property isn’t a good fit for you.
You Get Any Professional Recommendations Not To
You aren’t going to be the only person who looks over the house or the contract. Your settlement agents will check over the title deeds, while your surveyor will look around the property for signs of wear and tear. Both of these are very important processes and you should take these expert opinions highly seriously. If they recommend against moving or find a problem – listen.
You Spot Mould or Cracks
If the carpet is unclean and the wallpaper needs replacing then this is something you can do yourself – and you’ll actually add value to the property in doing so. However other problems are more serious and more chronic, and if there is mould in the property for instance then you will find that this is pervasive and difficult to get rid of. Think carefully before committing if that’s the case.

If you need to do some kind of demolition around your home then the most effective way to accomplish this is often with a power tool of some kind. Trying to smash up bricks or drill holes in the floor requires a huge amount of power and particularly over a large area, and if we try to do this ourselves relying on brute strength then we will quickly become exhausted and be putting ourselves at risk of injury.
A jackhammer then is one example of the kind of tool we might want to use when performing such jobs whether it means drilling a hole into the tarmac to access our sewerage or whether it’s to break up tiles so that we can re-landscape the garden.
Jackhammers though can be rather daunting machines to anyone who hasn’t used one before. We tend to associate these with builders working on the roads and not think about using them ourselves, and few of us will ever have had a go with one. Whether you’re using it yourself then, or hiring a construction company to use it, understanding how a jackhammer works can help to put your mind at ease and it’s also rather interesting. Here we will look at what’s going on.
What is a Jackhammer?
A jackhammer is what is sometimes referred to as a power drill (though it’s not technically a drill at all) and it works by using pneumatic power in order to pound the ground or another surface repeatedly with a large ‘chisel’ or hammer that can then smash or drill into it. These are incredibly powerful and can make short work of most surfaces that would require a huge amount of power to make a dent in on your own.
At the same time though it’s also worth noting that this power can be felt by the person using it and will send shockwaves through the operator’s body. If you want to use a jackhammer then you will need to be strong enough to hold it steady and it takes several people pushing firmly to use a jackhammer on a vertical wall or ceiling.
How Does it Work?
To generate this kind of power the jackhammer uses pneumatic power. This means compressed air which comes from air compressors. These are separate machines that rotate to push air through a connective tube that can then force the hammer down. The air compressor will then continue to turn and release that packed in air allowing the jackhammer to return to the upright position before more air is packed in. This works because air is made up of tiny oxygen particles which can eventually fill a space and act almost as a solid by pushing things through. This is one of the most convenient ways to generate that kind of power, though some jackhammers do operate using an electric motor.
Due to the power involved when using jackhammers as well as the need for other external devices you will normally be best off employing professionals to use them, though there are ways you can rent them if you are determined to give it a go.

While it can sometimes be nice to design a home with a classic aesthetic and attempt to create a Victorian look or an eclectic feel through your choice of furniture and furnishings, most of the time the general aim of interior design is to make the space look comfortable and modern. And even if you do want to make your home look old fashioned, this is something you need to do in a ‘modern way’ so that it looks like you chose to have your home like that rather than just letting it fall out of fashion.
If your home is starting to look a little dated then and you’re struggling to put your finger on it, then you will probably be eager to find ways that you can make it look more modern again and bring it kicking and screaming in the 21st century. Here are a few ways you can do this and give your property a more contemporary vibe.
One thing you can do in terms of your decorating is to look for a more minimal aesthetic. While patterns were once all the rage, large white spaces are now much more popular, and while furniture was once best if it was frilly and flamboyant, it is now considered more on the mark if it’s sleeker and perhaps made of a single piece of material without unnecessary flourishes. By using these design tropes by throwing some of your things out and replacing some of your furniture and fittings you can create a much cleaner looking space that will feel more modern as a result.
Likewise modern homes tend to be very light and aim for a natural feel in this regard. As such they will generally have lots of large windows without too much netting or other things preventing that light from getting in. Having a few new windows put in during your next home renovations then is a great way to make your property feel more 21st century.
Have More Novel Rooms
If your home currently consists of a couple of bedrooms, a living room and a guest room then it could be from any era. That isn’t to say that your property will be dated by those rooms as they are still necessities, but if you want to make your home seem more exciting and cutting edge then you might want to consider adding something that’s a bit more unusual or a bit more of a luxury. This could mean adding a gym, it could mean adding a home theatre or it could mean adding an office pod to the back of the garden. Either way, you know that Grandma won’t be getting one soon.
Technology has a place in interior design and home improvement and it’s important to remember this when you decorate. Whether it’s a large flatscreen TV in the kitchen or a fridge that knows your name, these kinds of features make your home feel like it’s from the Jetsons. Get a few of these items to show you’re aware of the latest tech, and then integrate them into your room layout rather than hiding them away.

Back in 1976, evolutionary biologist and outspoken Atheist Richard Dawkins published his book The Selfish Gene. In the work, he discusses the groundbreaking work by several scientists working with genes, and the place of self-replicating genetics in the process of evolution.
In this chapter, he coins a new term based on the original Greek work “mimema”, meaning something that has been imitated. His new word was ‘meme’. Sound familiar?
Jump forward decades later, and that word now has a whole new meaning. Certainly, it refers to something that has been imitated or repeated, though in the sense of a cultural phenomenon. Today, it is most commonly applied to things found on the internet. Not quite was Professor Dawkins had in mind.
Putting aside the amusing abduction of this word by the online masses, there is no denying the impact memes have had on our culture. Enough that some even have their own Twitter accounts.
Here are six of my personal favorites.
1. The Rage Guy
Unless you have been living under a rock (a rock without wifi, no less), you will have seen the many Rage Comics that have been created over the years. Someone took the general concept and opened up their own Rage Guy account. Making funny observations and talking about the annoyances of daily life, he manages to hit on points that make us all rage from time to time. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
Not to be confused with “Offensive Wonka”, this is a great meme for those who have a more sarcastic side. Using a photo of Gene Wilder in his Wonka days, it superimposes various condescending statements over the same image. For example, “Oh, you love Edward Cullen? I am sure he is real, and loves you too.” Harsh, biting and very funny, he is worth a follow.
3. Chuck Norris
The man himself, Chuck Norris. Sporting such gems as “Chuck Norris can reverse the flow of time by performing a roundhouse kick backwards”, it is no wonder this account has more than 200,000 followers. Of course, he actually has more. But the numbers are so high that it caused Twitter to malfunction. Now it only shows how many followers he gained per second.
I make a living over the internet, and love memes. You might have guessed that I have never been a social butterfly or life of the party. As such, I can really relate to some of these posts by Socially Awkward Penguin. Posts like “Has imaginary argument in head. MAKES CORRESPONDING FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND LOOKS INSANE.” Oh yeah….that is me.
Who doesn’t love a philosophical dinosaur? This is one of the all time most popular memes, and it is no wonder. Usually funny, you get both stupid and surprisingly insightful quotes from this thinking reptile. If you want to see it in your feed, check out this account. There are several under the name, but this is my favorite.
Alright, I know this is technically cheating because he isn’t a traditional “meme” like the others. But I think the Dark Lord definitely deserves a spot on this list. His account is full of Harry Potter jokes, funny puns and more than a few rants about his Twilight hate. Check him out for a real laugh. Just don’t piss him off, and if you hear the word “Avada”, you better run before he finishes his thought.
Do you have a parody Twitter account based on a meme to share? Let us know in the comments!
